Lucas Armando Garza III

February 17, 1952 - February 13, 2022

Lucas Armando Garza III
February 17, 1952 – February 13, 2022

Lucas Armando Garza III, 69
Passed away on the afternoon of February 13, 2022 from congestive heart failure.  Armando was born in Eagle Pass Texas, the oldest of three.

He was awarded a scholarship in architecture to the University of Washington when he designed and made a model of a new downtown Walla Walla, Washington at the age of 18.  He lived in Seattle, Washington for a few years.

He moved to Oregon for 10 years where he worked with CAPP,  helping elderly people weather proof and repair their roofs.  He also worked in concrete with his father.

He then moved to San Francisco, CA where he worked in the architectural world for 30+ years and worked on many projects in San Francisco.  He was also a sign and window artist later in life and painted windows for many restaurants, bars and auto dealerships.  Armando was also an accomplished musician, playing drums, bongos and conga with many local bands.

He was a visionary and ahead of his time, painting a collection of futuristic, self-sustaining utopian cities.  He was a renaissance man, a star gazer, free spirit and a gentle soul.  He will be missed by many.

He was loved by his family and is survived by his life partner John Allen Breeding and his sister Norma Garza Black, a niece Gloria Perez and three great nephews.   His celebration of life will be held March 13th at noon, Alexander Park, Crockett, CA.

Norma Black Day in and Day out I think about you and what a big influence you were on me, to pursue my music and song writing, to work in the music world as a promoter and a sound company. You will always be my big brother, my inspiration, my spiritual guide, my friend. I Miss you so much. May we dance again together some day.
